Have you watched the movie Forest Gump? If yes, I’m sure you’ll remember Bubba, the person in the movie who keeps on telling about his love for any dish that involves shrimps.
After the movie, the restaurant Bubba Gump popped out and on 2003 it has reached the Philippines. It is located at the 2nd floor of Greenbelt 3.
When I received an invite to try their new offerings, I can’t say no because I haven’t been to this restaurant before. I am curious on what they have to offer.
Upon entering, I felt the relaxed atmosphere. The area is quite spacious and cozy. Perfect for family gatherings, friends get together, small kiddie parties and/or business meetings.
On the wall, you can see a lot of memorabilias from the movie and decorations from the 1950’s thru the 1980’s.
BUBBA GUMP NEW DISHES
Here are the dishes that I was able to try during my visit.
Shrimp Bruschetta – It is a fresh sliced baguette, grilled and topped with shrimp, fresh tomatoes, garlic and basil. All hand tossed in extra virgin olive oil and drizzled with a sweet balsamic glaze.
Shrimp Quesadillas- It is made with shrimps, jalapenos and sumptuous cheeses. I like this dish. This is my favorite among the dishes presented.
Forrest’s Surf and Turf – I had a bite size of a 9 oz. tender USDA New York Strip and succulent grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The meat is a little bit dry for my taste. There is nothing special in this dish.
Lobster Louie Salad- I am not a salad person but I enjoyed this one. I love the combination of chilled lobster, romaine mix, hard boiled eggs, avocado and sliced tomatoes. It is topped with a creamy seafood salad dressing.
Jenny’s Club house Sandwich – Layer’s of ham, bacon, fresh lettuce, tomatoes and shrimp-pineapple-mango salsa spread. It is served with hot and crispy fries.
For the drinks, I enjoyed the Summer Slush. It is a combination of apple, pineapple and lemonade. It was served in this lighting glass. I was able to bring home the glass after, which my son loves using now.
I also tried the Mango Mosh Pit, a mango margarita with a hint if peach and Rhythm and Booze a refreshing blend of Bacardi Limon, watermelon and cranberry.
Overall, my visit to Bubba Gump is enjoyable. I am looking forward to bring my family here next time for them to enjoy the place and the food too.
