What if you could find a great use for those empty health, beauty and personal care bottles and containers you have at home?
Watsons Philippines’ Recycle for Rewards program encourages consumers to bring in their empty beauty and personal care bottles in exchange for shopping points, vouchers, or other free items.
The leading health, wellness, and beauty retailer has designated bins at select stores nationwide for consumers to exchange used plastic bottles for shopping vouchers or special freebies.
Shoppers are encouraged to drop off clean health, beauty and personal care containers such as vitamin or supplement containers and skincare, shampoo and body wash bottles that are empty and dry with the stickers removed. Customers may scan the QR code displayed on the bins to learn more about how they can claim their rewards.
Recycle for Rewards was born after studies showed that the Philippines is a top contributor to plastic pollution in the oceans. In a study done by Global Change Data Lab England in 2019, the country was responsible for 36.38% of global oceanic plastic waste. Watsons’ goal is to reduce plastic waste that pollutes the environment, help educate consumers on the benefits of recycling and encourage them to incorporate this into their daily practices.
Look out for the Recycle for Rewards bins at participating Watsons stores and start recycling today! .
