Recently, hubby and I were watching a video of Vice Ganda on You Tube from his recent concert. Vice was mocking Nancy Binay which I am not really a fan of so I was laughing my heart out. Hubby on the other hand told me that it is not fun to laugh and make joke with other people even though you don’t like them. He told me that a comedian can be funny without using or insulting other people looks or flaws. He even sampled Jose and Wally
Oh yes he has a point and I know that he is right. Yet I had fun watching the video.
That was the only video that I have watched, and I am still waiting for some. Today, there is another video that was released and this time it was about Vice Ganda mocking the respectable journalist of GMA 7 Ms. Jessica Soho.
Ms. Jessica Soho is the host of the evening news program “State of the Nation” on GMA News TV and of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” on GMA. The latter is the network’s top-rated program. She is also the Vice President for News Programs of GMA Network.
She has won numerous accolades, including the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award, in her career as a broadcast journalist for more than two decades. Soho has also repeatedly ranked as the most trusted news personality in the country. (via: GMA NEWS)
Report from RAFFLER: After making jibes at Soho’s weight, the comedian jested during his concert last May 17: “Ang hirap nga lang kung si Jessica Soho magbo-bold. Kailangan gang rape lagi. Sasabihin ng rapist, ‘Ipasa ang lechon.’ Sasabihin naman ni Jessica, ‘Eh nasaan yung apple?'” (It will be difficult if Jessica Soho gets naked. It has to be gang rape all the time. The rapist will say, “Pass the pork!” Jessica will say, “But where’s the apple?”)
Because of this bad joke, GMA reporters bash Vice Ganda on their Twitter account. Even GMA news anchor Arnold Clavio reacted on this issue last Tuesday, May 28 and took it to another level by making the incident the subject of his DZBB radio talk show with reporter Lala Roque.
(Why are you victimizing people who are serious at their work? Don’t use them just to be funny. Why don’t you use people from ABS as subjects for your jokes?).
In a statement sent to GMA News Online on Tuesday, Jessica Soho said: “Rape is not a joke and should never be material for a comedy concert.”
She added: “I thank all those who shared my hurt and expressed their support, but this should not be about me but about rape victims who suffer tremendously from this terrible crime. The horrors they go through are unspeakable and should never be taken lightly, especially by way of a cruel joke.”

Some people just simply doesn’t know when to stop. Sometimes people are making jokes even at the expense of hurting other people’s feelings.
