Every weekend, my sister always goes to our house to stay for the night. She does it even when we we were still at our old house in Manila.
Last week, our boarders recently vacated our house for rent at Manila. We expected that there were lots of things to clean and fix there, so that it could be more presentable if there will be someone looking for a house for rent. Since Sunday is the only available day we can do all the cleaning, I texted my sister to inform her that we would not be able to go home early Sunday night and it would be better not go to our house here in Cavite since we don’t know what time we were going to finish.
Unfortunately… she did not receive my message.
She went to the house at Cavite, and to her surprise nobody was there. She tried to contact us by calling and texting but since we were too busy cleaning and arranging the house and that I am not expecting any calls, I did not checked my phone.
I have read her messages and missed calls at around 10PM and that she decided to go back home at my mom’s house already. I felt really bad that day… My sister’s time to go here and be with her nephew was wasted and that she even bought a lot of “pasalubong” for my son.
This is not the first time this kind of mistake happened, I even almost lost a client because I didn’t checked my cellphone often. I admit I can live without cellphone but not without internet. But with emergencies like this, the cellphone is the easiest and most reliable way to communicate.
I hope this will be the last incident that I will regret for not checking my cellphone often.
I am sorry Eyen!
