I want to thank fellow mommy Kat S-C for posting this item at Pinay Mommies Community Facebook group. I never thought that there’s an item like this, technology nowadays is really amazing and surprising. My son Ren will go to a regular school this coming school year, and we want to develop his motor skills more to prepare him for the writing tasks at school. I usually buy him educational materials that will help him develop his fine motor skills. We already tried sticker books, clay, lacing kit, coloring books, peg board and many others.
If he gets bored with those things I let him water the plants using the plant sprayer, this task is said to help make his fingers stronger. I also let him help out in the kitchen, I let him pull out the leaves of malunggay at sometimes when the clothes are dry, I let him pull clothes from the hanger.
What makes this item interesting to me is because of the doodle pen; it is not pointed and not metal. The metal point at the regular writing board can be easily removed by frequent writing, which makes it dangerous since kids can put it in their mouth if not seen.
With this writing pad that Kat S-C discovered, I can be more confident to leave Ren alone while writing. The Doodle Water Magic Playmat is safe and very easy to use. You just need to add water on the Doodle pen and then viola! you are ready to write or draw anything you want on the mat. Ren loves the Alphabet and Numbers, it’s a good thing that there are letters in the Big Doodle Mat that we purchased, he just need to trace the letters and numbers. The writing magically disappears after few minutes which I think is the only downside here since you need to wait for it to be dry so that you will have available space for writing again. The writing board is a lot faster to erase.
Ren is so excited to use it, he doesn’t even want to watch the TV anymore.
I just hope that his excitement will last since he easily get bored with some activities that is not challenging to him anymore.

Weeee! I’m as excited as you are though I haven’t bought mine yet hihihi. Glad to know Ren is enjoying it, I know my little girl will love it too, and in turn I’ll love it most because she won’t be able to leave ink marks on ANYTHING. =)
