Almost a million visits to Jackson’s history in Wikipedia was the highest number within one hour ever recorded by the site’s history. The news literally slowed down websites due to user overload. This is a testamentto Michael Jackson’s impact on the lives of millions of people all over the world.
He was officially pronounced dead in June 25, 2009 due to cardiac arrest allegedly after overdosing with various prescription drugs. His personal physician is being investigated for involuntary manslaughter. The investigation stems from the discovery of various drugs in Jackson’s system specifically the anesthetic propofol and the anxiolytic lorazepam. The LA County Coroner has declared his death as homicide.
The outpouring of grief that came from different parts of the world was compared to those given to Elvis Presley and John Lennon. Jackson is survived by his three children who are under temporary guardianship of his mother. His family vows to file charges on those responsible for his death. As the controversy rages, his memory lives on.
