I am a fan of Amina Aranaz and when I was invited to showcase her collection for the Rags2Riches campaign, I was quite disappointed that I had to decline since the event will start late and it was quite far from where I am staying now.
Anyway, the collection is worth sharing to you dear readers, so even though I was not there, I collected some write ups and photos to give you a quick overview on the NUDOS: RAGS2RICHES by ARANAZ Holiday Collection 2012.
NUDOS? If you don’t know the meaning of this word just like me, here is a simple explanation – It is a Spanish word which means “knots”. The collection was inspired by playing around with different kinds of knots, where Ms. Amina Aranaz had a book to practice on.
“The Nudos collection is handwoven by our Rags2Riches Cooperative in Payatas and assembled by our in-house workshop. All knots for this collection, which are new artisan techniques introduced by Amina specifically for these bags and accessories, were handmade in our in-house workshop by our highly skilled, full-time artisans. Our hope is that with the success of this collection, these beautiful fashion accessories and new artisan skills can be extended to all Rags2Riches communities,” said Reese Fernandez, president for Rags2Riches. – photo from Rags2Riches FB page- www.facebook.com/Rags2RichesInc
Here is the Nudos collection, I will post the details of these individual items at my Fashion Blog (will update you on that)
