Today was the announcement of the blogs who made it to the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blog 2011 by Digital Filipino and Ms. Janet Toral. I am so thankful that this blog made it to the list.
I didn’t made it to the event because my husband and son are both sick. But I have prepared a Thank You speech and here it goes.
Last July 8, 2011, I nominated my blog Levyousa.com to be one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2011. Today, I accept this recognition of your confirmation that my blog has indeed exhibited its potential to exert influence on readers. For this honor, my gratitude goes to all the mommy bloggers like me who share all the treasure nuggets of our own personal experiences, hopefully to benefit other women and men who are going through the same circumstances as we are.
Influence cannot be wielded by just anybody. It is a direct result of achieving an enviable degree of believability that makes readers positively react to our views. Even the negative reactions given by readers from time to time should be seen as a good sign by the mere effort exerted in reacting to what we wrote. We should remember that any feedback is initiated by what we as bloggers have chosen to write.
Continued influence is maintained by being consistently relevant to our particular niche. It is more than perfect grammatically correct sentences or exceptional extraordinary ideas. Readership grows when what is being sought is found in our site.
I am happy to note that my particular reader niche is potentially large because of the high relevance of the simple yet important information I offer. It is probably the easiest to tackle since I am dealing with matters close to my heart such as family, motherhood, and food. At the same time, it presents its own challenges as a venue of expression since it is sometimes hard to determine the usefulness of what I offer to others. I would often wonder if a personal experience could catch the attention and interest of another human being. I have been surprised many times of the positive responses I have received. That is when I understood that our experiences will always have the power to touch the lives of another, no matter how trivial it may sometimes appear to us.
Blogging has made it possible for me to express what I feel, what I think, and what I know. Through my blogs, I came to know people who have become part of my everyday life in writing. It is like having an extended family that provides moral support when it is most needed.
I have definitely come a long way from my “online contests days” where the primary reason for blogging was to get a prize or earn additional income. Of course, the thrill of getting prizes and earning will never go away but my continued blogging has taught me to respect and recognize the other possibilities it offers.
I now know that blogging has its responsibilities. That is why I go about what I do with utmost sincerity and openness that is only possible by being true to myself. All my articles carry a part of my inner self, making it personal and meaningful.
This recognition can only push me towards improving my blogs for there is no better encouragement than to know that other people believe in me. There is better validation of my work than those coming from my peers. I hope to live up to this expectation or surpass it if I can.
In spite of the many problems and difficulties faced by many of us during these times, it is my aim to present the positive side of life. Through my blogs, allow me to provide hope not only to myself but other people as well as we continue to find ways of living our lives to the fullest, regardless of our limitations.
Again, thank you all for this privilege.
Thank You so much to Pinay Mommies Community who voted for this blog. Without your help being one of the Top 10 would be impossible.

A very sincere and insightful speech. Yes, your posts seem to appeal to a wide audience, but more particularly to moms. I’ve been reading through, and I feel that I’m journeying with you as a stay-at-home wife/mom.
Keep blogging! =)
