Yesterday after the Parents Assembly at my son’s school I went to the NBC Tent at the Fort to check the CROCS Mega Sale event. I like CROCS sandals a lot because they are so comfy and and it’s the first sandals my son had when he is still learning how to walk. I made an effort to go there since I heard that there were items that were being sold as low as P49.00.
I arrived at Market Market at the fort to ride an E-tricycle going to 5th avenue where the NBC tent was up (by the way, an E-tricycle is a rechargeable tricycle and the fare per ride is just P5.00).
When I arrived at the NBC Tent, the line is so long (it’s around 11:30AM). The sun’s ray is killing the people and makes my underarm sweat to death (ewww). Good thing I brought an umbrella with me. While waiting in line, Citibank agent/representatives were asking customers who don’t have a credit card to apply for one, that is because for every application you are entitled to a FREE entrance (that cost P50.00). But if you are already a Citibank cardholder then you are also free to go with one companion. Kids 3 years old and below are also FREE, but please if you are planning to go there, just go on your own, they will not like the long waiting time.
So, I fell in line for 1 1/2 hours before I finally arrived at the tent. Food and drinks were not allowed inside so you better consume it or don’t bring any food at all because guards will take it (but of course they will return it afterwards). If you are wearing any Crocs shoes or sandals they are going to put stickers on it before you can enter.
When I finally made it inside, my hunt began. I first looked for the items that has a huge discount, unfortunately to my dismay it’s all gone. I heard that the Crocs sales team said they have enough for everyone until June 12, 2011 but NO they don’t have it now (and it’s just the 2nd day of the said event).
Maybe because they opened the sale to VIP people last June 7 and to Citibank Card holders last June 8 that is why yesterday June 10 became the 4th day and one of the reasons why the items were already gone. I don’t know if they are just keeping some in their warehouse.
I found some sandals that I like but unfortunately there’s no available size to fit me anymore. I am size 7 or 8 and the available sizes left were just 4-6.
After struggling in the long line outside, yes you will have to fall in line again to pay for your purchases. If you have companions then it’s better to tell them to fall in line while you make the hunting. Unfortunately, I am not with anyone that time so when I saw the long line, I never bothered to fall in line again.
I went home empty handed, and I don’t think I will be going to any CROCS mega sale ever again. If only they informed the people in the line that some items were already gone, and crossed out in their price list out of stocks items then maybe I will commend the effort. I felt sorry for those who even paid for the entrance fee just like the one at my back and even excited to go inside after battling the sun’s rays and has been disappointed just like me.
If you want to check it for yourself, then the Crocs Mega Sale is up until tomorrow June 12th, so you still have time to go there. Good luck and inform me of your own experiences and I hope it’s not that bad as mine.

In events like these, I make sure that I arrive early, if late na, I won’t go at all. I learned my lesson in Make Your Havaianas events naman, pinipilahan din talaga.

if only I knew that they opened the sale for VIP members and another for CItibank cardholders the next day then I will not bother to go there. Kaso di ko alam na pang 4th day na sya ngayon ko lang nalaman.

that’s the problem with these mega sales, you have to go through all the hassle to get in tapos wala ka naman mabibili, glad we did not go. jared’s dad is planning to check if there is one the fits our son but changed his mine when he saw the queue 😉

I had colleagues who went to this sale, I forgot the date. They didn’t get anything either, kasi hindi na sila nagtyaga pumila. Pagdating kasi nila sobrang haba na daw so they decided not to continue. Maybe next time sa VIP ka na kasali 🙂
