Remember my post when I tested 3 Broadband Prepaid Internet here at our area in Cavite (read here- http://www.levyousa.com/2012/08/on-test-smart-bro-globe-tattoo-and-sun-broadband-prepaid-internet/). After that test, we decided to get Globe WiMAX.
WiMAX stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access.
It is designed specifically for wireless data, but can also do voice. It is intended as an alternative to DSL-cable, which combines the best of DSL and wireless. Moreover, Globe is the first to launch and has the largest WiMAX network in Southeast Asia to date! – source: http://tattoo.globe.com.ph/product/wimax#faqs
OUR PLAN IS: P1,099 (Up to 1 Mbps)
It’s good for:
- chatting, emailing with large attachments, surfing, video streaming, gaming, uploading/downloading of pictures and media files.
- Up to 3 Users
We decided to get Globe WiMAX because
- we heard that they are the fastest internet provider in our area. Internet connection depends on every area.
- Claimed to install the internet fast.
Our Experience
- They said that the installation will take only 3-5 days but ours took 10 days before being installed. That is because they said that can’t find our place!
- We are using 2 computers (thanks to our old router), and so far downloading and uploading documents is fair… meaning not too fast and not too slow
- We tried sharing the internet with my son’s iPod touch (WiFi) and connection is just the same as 2 computers sharing it
- During bad weather, our internet connection is somehow affected
- My husband said that when he is using at night, the speed is better compared in the morning
- The disadvantage of this kind of internet connection is that you need to plug it, so during brown out you will not be able to use it.
- The phone connection is bad. When I am using it, most of the time I can’t hear what the other person is talking about. I am just waiting for the locked in period to finish, then I will ask them to cut this landline.
This is the result of the Speed Test I have made today.

Hi, the Globe WiMax is not reliable, we are still using it but there are times that we are losing signals, also they have a bad customer service. I suggest you try Smart na lang
