Freeway National Artist Collection Series: Levi Celerio

Yours truly, got an invite to witness the launching of National Artists Collection 2012 featuring (my katokayo) Mang Levi Celerio, it was held last Monday, June 4 at The Row Glorietta 5 Makati.

The event started when Ms. Giselle Toengi took the center stage and welcomed everyone.

 A video was shown to us featuring the life and story of Levi Celerio.

Levi Celerio is a composer and song writer. Famous for being a lyricist, his songs treasure life; express nationalistic sentiments and complete grand philosophies. He is best recognized as a Guinness Book of World Record holder for being the only person able to make music using just a leaf. Celerio was proclaimed National Artist for Music and Literature in 1997.

After the touching video, G Toengi introduced the next performer,  she is no other than the Asia’s Queen of Songs Ms. Pilita Corales. She performed some of the hit songs of Levi Celerio like “Ang Pipit” and many others. She is a great entertainer, and my jaw aches because of  laughing at her jokes after every songs.

The Freeway- Levi Celerio’s collection includes beautiful modern tailored dresses, sublimation print graphic tees, woven tops in chiffons and poplins, sexy printed knit mini dresses and accessories printed with words and lyrics from some of the most famous works of Celerio which includes Sa Ugoy ng Duyan, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Ikaw ang Mahal Ko, Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw, Ang Pipit and O Maliwanag na Buwan.

The collection will hit Freeway stores by June 5, 2012.

I took home a Freeway Levi Celerio memorabilia- a limited edition Miniature Harmonica Levi Celerio necklace which actually works, my son loves to play with it.
