I heard that The Voice, a reality singing competition, which was originally created by the Dutch television producer John de Mol has landed in the Philippines and is called as The Voice of the Philippines. I am so thrilled because I am a fan of the 4 judges that graced this talent show: Ms. Lea Salonga, Apl.de.Ap. (Allan Pineda), Bamboo and Sarah Geronimo.
I have missed in watching the pilot episode the other night but thanks to YouTube, I’ve seen some of the contestants.
Just like Sarah Geronimo, I have also shed some tears when I realized that one of their contestant is a Balut vendor. We Filipinos has a soft spot for other people who we think are less fortunate. This is the reason why most of the time in any competition, they are the one that most people usually votes to win the competition. We love a Cinderella kind of story, aren’t we? Don’t get me wrong, I am not against that kind of thinking, but I think everyone should be given a chance to a fair judgement.
I hope The Voice is the answer to that kind of scenario.
I am a fan of Ms. Lea Salonga, I know that she is a very professional person since she was trained in a theater but through this show I saw her other side and that is being funny. Besides her singing and acting talent, I realized also that she can be a Sales person.. ang galing makipag negotiate e hahaha.
I also like Apl.de.Ap he is very down to earth and didn’t forgot where he came from. I like his accent too!
Sarah Geronimo is the youngest coach/judge in the group. I don’t know if she will be the last to complete her group. I like her since she is so sincere and kind but I don’t know if this will be a disadvantage on her team. I like that she is sitting besides Bamboo, I feel their chemistry and kinikilig ako sa kanila… they look good together. I saw their version of Just Give Me a Reason (by Pink and Fun’s lead singer Nate Rues), and I was like OMG, they look and sing oh so good together. They only have 10 years gap on their age pwede naman di ba? Sana sila na lang hahaha
Bamboo Manalac is the 4th judge and was tagged as the voice that rocked our world. I don’t argue with that, I am fan of his band from my high school days till now. I am looking forward to see more of him and Sarah sing together… Napaghahalataang kilig talaga ako sa kanilang dalawa.
I am excited to see more of The Voice of the Philippines.
