Devastating earthquakes has already struck nearby countries in Asia, we already felt low magnitude earthquakes this past few days that seems to be making some signs or warnings to be ready for the coming days. No I don’t welcome it to happen by writing this, of course, I have a family of my own and just thinking of a tragedy like this happening makes me upset.
I am just thinking, is our beloved government already doing something to get ready and help their people if this unavoidable tragedy happens? Do we Filipinos know what to do, where to go, who to contact in case it happens?
When we purchased a new house I didn’t know where is the Philippine fault line, just now when I looked for it in the net to educate myself. Although it’s good to know that our new house is not included in the fault line, still I am worried for those people who never knew that their house or establishment is already under a fault line.
I am looking for a detailed map (with streets name and barangay) with the Marikina Valley Fault line and this is the only thing I found.
The Marikina Valley fault line is located at the following locations : Montalban, San Mateo, Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, Muntinlupa, San Pedro, Binan, Carmona, Santa Rosa, Calamba, Tagaytay, Oriental Mindoro. But the map that I found only shows the Marikina area, and it’s even a promotional item from Blue Residences. Why is it that the whole map is not openly shown to the public? I think the government should post maps all over the metro so that the people will be warned where not to stay during earthquake, isn’t it? Be reminded that active fault can generate a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
I don’t blame or ask the government to take care of everything since as what I learned, at my law subject before, that “Ignorance of the law excuses no man”. This means you should know what are the laws in your own country. But we all know that not all people in our country have the capabilities to be well informed and even trained. That is why feeding this people the right information is needed to avoid large number of casualties.
We are already being warned and it’s up to us if we will prepare ourselves like ants do, or ignore it and be caught unprepared like grasshoppers do.

Kindly call her first and find out what are the things you should bring so you can apply for a fault certification for the places you want to be assessed.
