Dealing with Dark Underams

Dark underarms can be a real source of embarrassment specifically for women. Many have chosen to forego wearing clothes that will expose their underarms but this need not be the case. Several products that address this problem are being offered in the market today.

The most common causes of dark underarms are the prolonged use of some deodorants as well as excessive shaving and waxing. Since very few people can avoid using deodorants, shaving or waxing, some steps can be undertaken to prevent worsening of the situation. It is quite possible that an allergic reaction may be occurring on the underarm which results to darkening thus switching to a hypoallergenic variant can go a long way. Certain procedures can be done so that shaving and waxing will not have to be done as often, if at all. The next step is to find a safe underarm product that can work to diminish darkening.

Underarm skin is more sensitive than the other skin parts. So it can be risky to use products containing harmful ingredients like hydroquinone. Whitening of the skin cannot be rushed so the process should be given adequate time. The armpits, in the same way as the inner thighs, are naturally prone to darkening because of pigmentation, sweat and stress. Darkening can also be caused by certain ailments. Some of the products that can be used to achieve underarm whitening include creams, lotions, deodorants and underarm peeling kits. Medical treatments and procedures on the other hand, include ultrasound therapy that gently exfoliates armpits.
